Can't add contact from maps

I have an iPhone 5c running iOS 9.2.1. Recently I lost the ability to add add contacts from Maps. I go into Maps and search for a business. When I find the place I am looking for, I click on it's locater in Maps which brings up a page with directions, phone number, and address, and at the bottom there is the option to "Create New Contact". Clicking that option brings me in to Contacts, and when I click "Done", it seems like I have added a new contact. Except that when I switch to Contacts, the new listing is not present. This used to work great, any suggestions?

I had this problem too - and discovered this thread. After finding no solution here, I tried a few things and found that in "Settings-Contacts", my default account was set to my business email account.. I changed it to "iCloud" and now it is working correctly. My best guess is that my work mail accounts "contact" support is read-only or has some other type of incompatibility.

Try changing the "default account" in the Contacts settings applet and see if it helps...

I am having the EXACT same issues. I have added SEVERAL contacts from maps, even added additional information to the contact & once "done" is selected the information is lost in the worthless Apple ether.....

I have scoured the blogs, Apple knows this is happening & like always, does & says nothing when asked except suggest updating my iOS to the latest version.

I'm running the latest iOS 10.3.1, it has fixed NOTHING & it still has serious glitches.

Thanks Apple for always ruining a good thing, it's the only thing we can be certain you'll do.

Update ALL YOU LIKE, it will NOT fix this & several other issues......

Nothing that has worked. I have done more searching and I can't find any solutions. I have had this issue for a while. Its saving the data somewhere on the phone because if I call a restaurant that I have added while in Maps the name populates in my call log but if I search the contacts or a general search on the phone nothing shows. I have iPhone 6 running 9.2.1.

Same here only I'm not adding this from Maps I'm adding directly from the keyboard. If I add a contact it does not show up in my contacts. As the rest of you have mentioned, it is stored somewhere that the phone can access it, but doesn't show up in the contacts. Interestingly, while the addresses I add on my iPhone do NOT show up the iPhone itself they do show up on the iPad and the iMac which are all synced. Both my iPhone 6 and my iPad are running 9.2.1.

I have the same problem. Although, I noticed that if I add the contact and then separately type in the number and call it, the call shows as calling to that contact. What I mean is, the business I just did this with was Debbie Supply Inc. Added it, tried to find in contacts - couldn't find it. Then, separately I went to Google Maps, selected Call from the app, which redirected to phone and called the number for the business. My phone shows calling Debbie Supply Inc as if the contact were in my Contacts. I search contacts again looking for Deb, Supp, and Inc and find nothing. So weird.

My guess is that the contact is being added the phone's memory, but is somehow not being shown in Contacts.

Your correct. I have noticed that if I try to save them they do not show up in contacts, but if they call me or I manually call them the name shows in in the caller ID. The problem is if I want to call the place I have to look up the number instead of going to my contacts. Very frustrating that it's clearly being stored but not being accessed by contacts.
